Neighbourhood planning.....helping to guide groups through the process

Although Neighbourhood Planning isn’t a new thing, key legislation brought in as part of the Localism Act in 2013 allows local people to shape and develop the policies for their community. The number of plans being produced is growing rapidly.

Neighbourhood Plans have legal status,  which means they carry weight in planning decisions affecting the neighbourhood in question. Inorder to reach this status there are various steps which a community has to take the plan through. There is an awful lot of information, work and commitment asked by the local community involved. I work alongside a specialist consultancy in Neighbourhood Planning (Kirkwells – www.kirkwells.co.uk) to help guide groups through the process and be able to help produce a meaningful and useable Neighbourhood Plan.
